The year 2008 marks the 71st Annual Iowa Masters Golf Tournament. The Iowa Masters is an invitational golf tournament sponsored by Facilities Planning and Management of Iowa State University and The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Mid America. The Iowa Masters is one of the Iowa Golf Association’s "major" tournaments that determine the IGA Amateur and IGA Senior Amateur of the Year awards.

The tournament is scheduled to be contested over 54 holes with all competitors playing both Friday and Saturday. Following the 2nd round, a cut is made to determine the field for the final round.

Due to the popularity of the tournament over the last several years, a qualifying event was established to determine the balance of the field once pre-qualified entrants were given priority to enter. A minimum number of spots are held in both the open and senior divisions that anyone may try to qualify for.

The Iowa Masters has historically been the standard by which other tournaments around the state pattern themselves. The committee that runs the Iowa Masters dedicates themselves to preserving the history of the tournament while continuing to improve it for the benefit of amateur golfers.

NO MASTERS QUALIFYING EVENT THIS YEAR

The following rules are in effect to determine the tournament field.

  1. Entries from Pre Qualified players (name highlighted in pink or yellow on Entry Blank) will only be guaranteed until Thurs. June 22, ‘06 After that date all entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Other entries will be accepted on a first-come, first –served basis for any remaining spots (approx. 50 - 75) following the June 22nd cut off date for pre qualified entries. All entries must be accompanied by the Entry Fee of $100.00.
